Glass Window Bridge is one of those places.
Perched at the narrowest point of Eleuthera, this natural wonder is where two worlds collide. On one side, the deep sapphire waters of the Atlantic Ocean stretch endlessly toward the horizon. On the other, the calm, crystal-clear turquoise of the Caribbean Sea glows with colors that seem almost unreal.
Separated by only a narrow strip of land, the contrast is breathtaking.
As a local Eleuthera wedding photographer, I've photographed couples throughout the Bahamas, but nowhere offers the same combination of drama, beauty, and raw natural energy as Glass Window Bridge. Golden hour — the magic window
The best light comes during the 45 minutes before sunset. The low sun catches the limestone rocks and bathes the landscape in warm gold and amber tones, while the contrast between the two oceans becomes even more vivid. This is the ideal window for portraits.
Early morning
Sunrise is equally spectacular — soft pastel light, misty water, and almost no crowds. For couples willing to wake up early, the atmosphere is peaceful, intimate, and extraordinary.
Midday
Midday light can be harsh here. The rocks reflect heat and brightness, shadows become stronger, and the sky can appear washed out in photos. While the location is still beautiful, I generally recommend avoiding this time for couple portraits unless we're focusing more on the landscape itself.

Glass Window Bridge is one of the most dramatic natural locations in the Bahamas — and dramatic landscapes deserve respect.
The Atlantic side can be dangerous
Waves here can be powerful and unpredictable, especially near the rocky ledges. Conditions can change quickly.
We do not go close to the Atlantic edge during rough conditions
Your safety always comes before a photograph.
The Caribbean side is much calmer
This is where we spend most of our time for portraits. The turquoise water, smooth rocks, and views back toward the bridge itself are both beautiful and accessible.
Wear shoes you can navigate on rocks with
Bare feet on wet limestone is not ideal. I'll always guide you on what to wear and bring for this location.
As your local photographer, I monitor weather and ocean conditions before every session here. If conditions are not safe, we adjust the plan accordingly. That's the advantage of working with someone who knows this location intimately.

Many couples choose Glass Window Bridge for their engagement session the day before or the morning of their wedding. Without the pressure of a wedding-day timeline, we can explore more freely and create a wider variety of images.
As the sole ceremony location for elopements
This is one of my favorite options for adventurous couples: a simple ceremony on the rocks with the two oceans as your witnesses. The intimacy and natural beauty make these elopements incredibly meaningful and visually unforgettable.
Getting to Glass Window Bridge
Glass Window Bridge is located in Gregory Town, in the northern part of Eleuthera. It's approximately:
20 minutes from North Eleuthera Airport
45 minutes from The Cove Eleuthera
1 hour from Governor's Harbour
A rental car or private driver is the easiest way to get there. For wedding-day portrait stops, I always recommend having dedicated transportation so we're not dependent on resort shuttles for timing.
A Signature Perspective
One of my favorite compositions at Glass Window Bridge is captured from the Caribbean side, looking back toward the bridge with the Atlantic visible beyond it. The couple stands on the smooth turquoise rocks, framed by both oceans, while the light catches the spray from the waves behind them.
