That part's easy; the Bahamas delivers on it without much effort. What's less obvious going in is how different island planning is from a mainland wedding, and what actually makes the difference between a stressful day and a smooth one.

Nassau is where a lot of Bahamas weddings start — it's the most accessible island, with resort infrastructure, easy guest travel, and a wide range of venues in one place. That accessibility is exactly why it's easy to plan a Nassau wedding on autopilot and miss both the practical details and the local traditions that make a Bahamian wedding feel like it's actually in the Bahamas.
PAYMENT & BOOKING DISCLAIMER
A non-refundable retainer fee of 50% of the total package price is required to secure your booking date and time. No date will be reserved until the retainer has been received.
The remaining balance is due on or before the day of the session/event unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
Clients who choose to send payment through Paypal will be responsible for an additional 18% transaction fee, which will be added to the total invoice amount.
Payments made via bank transfer do not incur any additional fees and are the preferred payment method.
By submitting the retainer payment, the client acknowledges and agrees to these payment terms.

NASSAU PHOTOGRAPHY — BAD WEATHER & RESCHEDULING POLICY
Because weather conditions in Nassau can change unexpectedly, especially for beach and outdoor photoshoots, the following policy applies to all Nassau photography bookings with Orion Joseph Photography.
1. Weather Monitoring
Weather conditions will be monitored before each scheduled session. Cloudy skies and light overcast conditions will not automatically result in a reschedule, as these can still provide beautiful lighting for photographs.
2. Rain, Wind & Unsafe Conditions
If heavy rain, strong winds, lightning, flooding, or other adverse weather conditions make a photoshoot unsafe or unsuitable, the session may be postponed.
The photographer will communicate with the client as early as reasonably possible to discuss the available options.
3. Weather-Related Rescheduling
If the photographer determines that weather conditions are unsuitable for the session, the client may reschedule to a mutually agreed date, subject to availability, without an additional rescheduling fee.
Any booking fee already paid will be transferred to the rescheduled session in accordance with the booking agreement.
Every reasonable effort will be made to find a suitable alternative date. However, rescheduling is subject to the photographer's availability.
4. Client-Initiated Weather Changes
If the client requests a cancellation or rescheduling solely because of the forecast when the photographer considers the conditions safe and suitable, the standard booking and cancellation policy will apply.
5. Tropical Storms, Hurricanes & Travel Disruptions
In the event of a tropical storm, hurricane warning, official safety advisory, evacuation order, or other dangerous weather condition, sessions will be postponed or cancelled as necessary.
As Orion Joseph Photography is based in Eleuthera, Nassau bookings require advance travel arrangements. If severe weather, ferry or flight disruptions, or unsafe travel conditions prevent the photographer from reaching Nassau or returning safely to Eleuthera, the session may need to be rescheduled or cancelled.
Safety will always take priority. The photographer will notify the client as early as reasonably possible if travel arrangements are affected.
6. Travel from Eleuthera to Nassau
Travel arrangements for Nassau bookings are planned in advance, and the agreed photography package fee includes the applicable travel and accommodation arrangements specified at the time of booking.
If unforeseen weather or travel disruptions prevent the photographer from travelling as planned, every reasonable effort will be made to find a suitable alternative date.
If the session cannot take place and rescheduling is not possible, any refund will be handled in accordance with the booking agreement.
7. Accommodation Included in the Package Fee
Accommodation for Nassau bookings is included in the agreed photography package fee. This covers the accommodation planned for the original booking schedule.
If severe weather, ferry or flight disruptions, or other unforeseen travel delays require the photographer to remain in Nassau for an additional night, any additional accommodation costs will be the photographer's responsibility. These unexpected costs will not be passed on to the client, provided the original booking arrangements remain unchanged.
If a client requests a change to the session date or schedule that requires additional travel or accommodation, any additional costs will be discussed and agreed upon in advance.
8. Weather Decision & Communication
The photographer will make the final decision on whether outdoor conditions are safe and suitable for the session.
Clients will be notified through their agreed contact method as soon as reasonably possible regarding weather concerns, travel disruptions, or any necessary changes to the session.
9. Booking Fee & Cancellations
The booking fee is non-refundable and secures the client's session date, in accordance with the booking agreement.
If the photographer must reschedule due to unsafe weather or unforeseen travel disruptions, the booking fee will be transferred to the rescheduled session date.
If the session must be cancelled and rescheduling is not possible, any refund or other resolution will be handled in accordance with the booking agreement and applicable circumstances.
Client-initiated cancellations remain subject to the standard booking and cancellation policy.
